The Attire
The word Saraswati is derived from Sanskrit with the meaning of quintessence. Goddess Saraswati is considered one of the female trinity of the universe. Devi annihilates the darkness of ignorance and brings wisdom to everyone’s mind. As per the iconography, Devi Saraswati resides in a lotus flower in a gorgeous attire by wearing a white saree. She has four arms in which a book and prayer beads are held in two hands as well as the other two hands involved in playing the veena. The lotus and white color symbolize supreme knowledge. Her four arms depict the elements of the inner soul which includes front right hand as mind, front left hand as wisdom, back right hand as ego, and back left hand as consciousness. The musical instrument veena signifies the harmonious journey of living with wisdom and good vision. However, the entire attire of Devi Saraswati is spiritually overwhelming and it represents supremacy, consciousness, and concentration.
Saraswati Puja
Saraswati puja is a sacred puja for seeking the blessings of Devi Saraswati. It is performed during the last three days of Navratri. The Poojavaippu ritual is conducted during these days. Holy books like Ramayan, Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharat, and learning books are kept for puja in front of Goddess Saraswati. People also worship with the tools which are used based on their profession. It depicts a sign of admiration for the object. Devotees are in a state of spiritual enthusiasm and they are fully engaged in prayers on the days of Navratri. On the day of Vijayadashami (which is known to be the tenth day of Navaratri), Goddess Saraswati will bless students abundantly with great wisdom, concentration, prosperity, and good fortunes. Lord Hanuman was a passionate devotee of Lord Rama who was the seventh avatar of Lord Mahavishnu. He played an influential role in the great epic Ramayana. Being the incarnation of Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman was the son of Kesari and Anjana. Some devotees believe that he is also the son of Vayudeva (wind god), hence called by the name Vayuputra. He was also known by different names such as Maruti Putra, Ramdas, Mahavira, Kesari Nandan, Bajrang Bali, and Ramdut. Lord Hanuman is an embodiment of pure devotion.
Mythological assumptions
There were many myths related to Lord Hanuman When his mother Anjana was a celestial nymph (apsaras), sage Durvasav cursed her that her son will be monkey-faced. His mother realized the power of the curse when she saw the face of her little one. If you look at him you will realize that he is a real monkey with beautiful ornaments and a crown.

A shining exemplar in Ramayan
In the epic Ramayana, Lord Hanuman was one of the great companions of Lord Rama. When Lord Rama and Lakshmana went in search of Sita Devi they met Hanuman in Kishkinda forests. Lord Rama was delighted with the flawless manners, simplicity, and innocence of Hanuman. He answered Hanuman on his doubts about life. Jambavan reminded Hanuman about his ability to fly by which they found Sita. Throughout the whole episode, Lord Hanuman served as a mediator to Lord Rama and Sita Devi. When he asked Sita Devi about the significance of applying sindoor on the forehead, she replied that it is for the longevity of Lord Rama. By hearing this, Hanuman applied sindoor on his full body to present the love and an avid devotion towards Lord Rama.
Lord Hanuman played a valiant role in the battle against Ravana and stood for the win of Lord Rama. He brought Maruthwamala ( mountain) which includes a lot of medicinal herbs to cure the wound of Lakshmana who was injured during the battle against Indrajith, the son of Ravana. This action depicts that the heart of Lord Hanuman is filled with love and admiration towards Lord Rama and Sita Devi. The divine relationship between Lord Rama and Hanuman personifies the importance of pure adoration, love, consciousness, and dedication.

The abode of Lord Krishna is known as Goloka Vrindavana. Lord Krishna has pale blue skin like the color of a beautiful cloud, wrapped in yellow dhoti at his waist, worn beautiful ornaments, and a crown of peacock feathers. He plays his flute, and his eyes are like the petals of a magnificent lotus. The attire of Lord Krishna was so attractive and divine.
Story
Lord Krishna was born to Vasudeva and Devaki in Mathura in the Yadu dynasty. His birth was to kill King Kamsa, who was the brother of Devaki. King Kamsa heard a prophecy that his sister’s eighth child came to end his life. Brother-in-law Vasudeva and Devaki were arrested, and king Kamsa led to imprisonment. Kamsa killed each of the babies born to Devaki. Vishnu appeared before Vasudeva. Recognizing the child's godliness, he escaped with the baby, crossed the Yamuna river, and handed it over to Nanda and Yashoda in Gokula. Yasoda has a great love for Krishna as a mother. Little Krishna grew up in Dwaraka (Vrindavan), and he surprised everyone with his miraculous powers. The bond of love between Krishna and Radha is portrayed in Hindu mythology.
Lord Lakshmi Narasimha - “An incredible incarnation”
Among the holy trinity, Lord Mahavishnu has an intense purpose of protecting the universe towards social integrity. One such incarnation of Lord Vishnu is Lord Lakshmi Narasimha, known to be the fourth avatar of Lord Vishnu. The sole mission of Lord Narasimha was to end the atrocities of demon King Hiranyakashipu. The word Narasimha is a combination of two words in which ‘Nara’ means man and ‘Simha’ means lion. Goddess Lakshmi, consort of Lord Mahavishnu sits in the lap of Lord Narasimha, hence known by the name Lord Lakshmi Narasimha.

Mrithyumrithyum namamyaham”.

The Purpose
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu personifies an unusual form of Lord Narasimha to kill the Hiranyakashipu. Hiranyakashipu was a demon king who had extreme hatred towards Lord Vishnu as his brother Hiranyaksha was killed by Lord Vishnu in the form of Lord Varaha (third incarnation of Lord Mahavishnu). He acquired several boons from Lord Brahma with his deep meditation for several yugas. As per the boon, Hiranyakashipu could not be killed by a god, human, monster, weapon either inside or outside and not at the time of day or night. He became an evil king to all the people who followed Lord Vishnu. His act of wickedness to poor people increased day by day with the power of his boon and ordered them to praise his name. Therefore Lord Vishnu took the avatar to restore dharma in the universe.
Saviour of the Bhakta
The son of Hiranyakashipu named Prahlada was a passionate devotee of Lord Vishnu. He invoked Vishnu every time and chanted the sacred mantras of the Lord. In his mother’s womb, he heard a lot of Lord Vishnu’s stories and mantras from his mother. Hiranyakashipu was irritated with his son’s actions as the palace sounded with praise of Lord Vishnu. He decided to kill his divine son because of his affinity with Lord Vishnu. Once Hiranyakashipu asked Prahlada about Lord Vishnu, he praised Vishnu in a soulful manner and said that the presence of the supreme lord is ubiquitous. By hearing his response, Hiranyakashipu shattered the pillar with his mace in an extreme temper. Suddenly, a petrified figure came out of the hewed pillar with a thirst of diminishing him. Hiranyakashipu became mystified by seeing the unbelievable appearance of Lord Narasimha. Lord Narasimha killed the pitiless devil by taking entrails by seizing them in his lap at the time of sunset. Thus he saved little prince Prahlada and the whole universe from the uncompassionate demon.
Lord Venkateswara - 'Paramount Godhead Of Kali-yuga'
Lord Venkateswara is the magnificent form of Lord Mahavishnu, the preserver of this universe. He is known by different names such as Venkatachalapati Srinivasa, Balaji, Venkata Ramana, Thirupathy Timmappa, Thirumala Devar, Bithala, Ezhumalaiyaan, Varadaraja Malaiyappa Swamy, and Govinda. Lord resides in Venkata hills, part of Seshachalam hills hence called by the name Venkateshwara. The word Venkateshwara means 'annihilator of sinful activities.' His manifestation in this world aims to rebuild humanity in this kali yuga and enlighten the devotees towards the path of deliverance. In India, Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy is idolized as a sacred deity at Tirupati.

World's Richest Temple
The Sanctorum of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy is at Tirumala hills located in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh. Tirupati Venkateswara temple is the richest temple in the world. Being the part of eastern ghats, Thirumala hills resemble Adishesha, King of all Nagas. It is believed that Lord Vishnu sleeps on Adishesha. According to Hindu mythology, Tirupati is a holy place witnessed by four yugas. It was known in different names in those yugas, such as Vrishabhachala in Krita yuga, Anjanachala in Treta yuga, Seshachala in Dwapara yuga. Interestingly, in this yuga, the place is named 'Venkatachala.'

He wears mesmerizing jewels like earrings, snake bracelet, emerald necklace, crocodile shaped earrings. There is a golden sheath made of diamond studs on the lord's palms and a beautiful crown made of diamond. The whole attire of Lord Venkatachalapathi creates eternal bliss and spirituality in everyone's mind.
Story
One of the Saptarishis named Brighu was not happy with the solution provided by Lord Brahma and Shiva for his problem. Surprisingly, he visited Vaikunta, the abode of Lord Mahavishnu. He witnessed that the Lord rested on Adishesha. Enraged Sage Brighu called him by kicking on the lord's chest where Goddess Mahalakshmi, wife of Lord Vishnu, lives. Lord Vishnu welcomed Sage Brigu with great respect. Goddess Mahalakshmi left the Vaikunta for not giving punishment to the sage. Lord Vishnu, with melancholy, went to earth and meditated for the return of Goddess Mahalakshmi. Later they both reincarnated as Srinivas and Padmavathi. Srinivas borrowed money as a loan from King Kubera (Lord of Wealth) to marry Padmavati, which satisfied Padmavati's father's condition. Hence his devotees give wealth as an offering to Lord Venkateswara, making Tirupati the wealthiest temple in the world.

As per the Hindu belief, women were not allowed due to the celibate nature of Lord Ayyappa. The restricted entry of women to Sabarimala has led to controversy since 2017. Devotees protested against the Supreme court's order of granting permission for devotees to enter the temple.
Mythological reasons
As per the tradition, menstruating women have a restricted entrance to the temple of Sabarimala. Based on Hindu mythology, he was the adopted son of King Rajashekara in Pandalam. When the Queen gave birth to her child, she played a drama of suffering from the disease to spurn Ayyappa and sent him to the forest to get tigress milk for curing her enigmatic disease. Abruptly he returned to the palace, seated on a tigress, which made everyone drop their jaws. Ayyappa realized that his mother had betrayed him. He left the palace with melancholy and determined to be a celibate. He went to reside in the hills of Sabari after his purpose. This accord was due to his mother's deception.
Purpose
The vital intent of Ayyappa's birth is to confront and slay an evil buffalo demoness Mahishi. Mahishi was blessed with a boon that only a child born to Shiva and Vishnu could kill her. Lord Ayyappa freed herself from the curse and obtained liberation by the grace of Shri Dharma Sastha. In the Sabarimala temple, she is described as Malikapurathamma, by which name she has a temple next to Ayyappa.
Birth
Ayyappa Swamy was born as an incarnation of Lord Shiva and Mohini (an avatar of Mahavishnu). Hence, Lord Ayyappa was also named Hariharaputhra. King Rajashekara, ruler of Pandalam, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. He was in a touch of melancholy for not having a child. Both the unfortunate king and his queen prayed continuously to Lord Shiva for a child. Once, when the king went to the forest found an abandoned boy along the river banks. King was overwhelmed with enthusiasm and decided to raise him as his son. As per the sage's advice, King named him Manikantan as he wore a bell around his neck. Ayyappa surprised everyone with his magical powers as a child.
After completing his intention in the earth, Ayyappa left the palace due to his mother's deception. King became sad with his decision. Ayyappa asked the King to build a temple at Sabari; therefore, he could visit the temple every year. The king built the shrine, and Lord Parashurama carved Lord Ayyappa and installed it on the eve of Makarasankranthi.
Renowned Abode Of Ayyappa Swamy
Sabarimala is the celestial abode of Lord Ayyappa. Sabarimala temple is situated on the hilltop located in the Pathanamthitta District, Kerala. Ayyappa welcomes all the devotees irrespective of creed and caste. Devotees visit the temple every year during the pilgrimage season by observing 41 days of fasting. As per the tradition and belief, devotees went to the temple with Irumudikettu, which consists of offerings to the Lord, and ascended the eighteen sacred steps to praise Ayyappa Swamy.

Lord Kartikeya who is the principal god of the Tamil people is popularly called Tamil Kadavul. As you would have guessed, he is also worshiped in countries closer to Tamil Nadu like Srilanka and South Asian countries like Singapore and Malaysia. He is the repository of knowledge and the source of three branches of Tamil literature as (Prose) Iyal, (Music) Isai, and (drama) Nadakam. He is also known as Lord Muruga Aarumuga and Lord Swaminatha. As per Tamil literature, the name Muruga specifies the trinities as MU - Mukundan (Vishnu), RU - Rudra (Lord Shiva), and KA - Kamalan (Brahma). The epic Skanda Purana describes how he arrived on this planet, as the naughty son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesha was his elder brother. His attire includes a spear (vel), peacock as his Vahana (vehicle), and a cock banner on the other hand.
The Guru
When he was a child, Lord Shiva told him to go to Lord Brahma for his studies. He went to Lord Brahma and asked, “What is the meaning of Om.” Lord Brahma told him to study letters first. Hearing this, he responded, “ You don’t know the meaning of Om and you are not fit to be my teacher.” Shockingly, Lord Brahma told Lord Shiva that, “I could not answer the questions of your son and please handle yourself.” Shiva was very much angry. He called his son and enquired. When Shiva realized the situation he was astonished. He requested his son for the meaning.
Lord Karthikeya said, “ In a Gurugula, the Guru should sit at a higher place than the student.” After a smile, Lord Shiva made him sit on his shoulders. Thus the young boy taught Lord Shiva the eternal meaning of Om as “The Entire creation is Om.” Seeing this, Goddess Parvati named Lord Muruga as Lord Swaminatha (One who taught my Natha).
The Anger
One fine Morning, Sage Maratha, known in the deva world for his crazy activities, came to Kailasa to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. During the visit, he brought a mango to the children. He planned to check the unity among the children. As there was only one mango, Lord Shiva planned a competition. He said, “ The Mango will be given to the one who circles the world thrice.” Hearing this, Lord Muruga drove his peacock to start circling. But Lord Ganesha started to circle his mom and dad. He said the world is equal to Lord Shiva and Parvati. Surprisingly, the gods gave him the mango. When Lord Muruga returned he was shocked. He went to Mount Palani with anger. Sage Auvaiyar praised the Lord with her songs to reduce the anger. The devotees still sing these songs.
Unique Arpana

Birth
Lord Shani was born to Lord Surya and Chayya. Chayya was the shadow of Lord sun's wife named Swarna. Chayya penanced to get the blessings of Lord Shiva at the time of pregnancy. Lord Sun turned eclipsed when chaya gave birth to Shani. He detested Shani for being black. According to Hindu belief, Lord Shani is also depicted as an incarnation of Lord Mahavishnu, who assigns the task of giving the reward for one's actions.

Satyanarayan Katha starts with the narration of Maharishi Sootha in the Naimisharanya forests along with rishis. Suspiciously, Rishis asked Maharishi Sootha about the attainment of the salvation of humankind. Maharishi narrated the response of Lord Mahavishnu to Narad Muni.
Once Narad Muni visited Mrityulok, the planet earth, and noticed that humans were suffering from their past deeds (karma). Narad Muni went to the abode of Lord Mahavishnu by witnessing the agonies of humankind on the earth. He met the Godhead Mahavishnu, who was embellished with Shanka (conch), Chakra (discus), Gadha (mace), and Padma (lotus) held in his four hands and wore an elegant garland over his neck. Narad Muni informed the Lord about the miseries faced by people on earth due to the previous life's deeds. He requested Lord Mahavishnu to lead the people to attain moksha (salvation).
Way to deliverance
Lord Mahavishnu conveyed a great solution to rescue from the sorrows of the people. Lord acknowledged that humankind could be relieved from all the sufferings by performing a puja named 'Satyanarayan Puja,' which will lead towards attaining salvation. When performed according to religious rites, this puja will bring happiness, tranquility, and wealth in life. Narad Muni became overwhelmed with Lord Mahavishnu's response, and he inquired about the specifics of doing puja. Lord Mahavishnu explained the rituals of Satyanarayan Puja.
Satyanarayan Puja
Satyanarayan puja can be carried out in any month on a full-moon day called Poornima. Satyanarayan Vrat (fasting) will also add a great advantage to this puja. You should praise Satyanarayan with great devotion while performing the puja and offer ghee, milk, butter, curd, fruits, flowers, flour, honey, and sugar. One should read Satyanarayana Katha and distribute prasad after the puja. It is favorable to invite friends and relatives to this relinquishing puja. This puja can also be performed during special occasions like marriage, engagement, naming ceremony, and housewarming.

Role in Ramayana
Lord Rama(Prince of Ayodhya), Bhatha, Lakshmana and Shatrugna were the four sons of King Dasharatha. Sri Lakshmana and Shatrughna were the twin sons born to Sumithra (third queen of Dasharatha). Being a humble personality, Lakshmana was more attached and loyal to Lord Rama. When Lord Rama was married to Goddess Sita Devi after a challenging task, Lakshmana also married the sister of Sita called Urmila. Sri Lakshmana also followed him when circumstances led Lord Rama to be exiled for fourteen years. Here we can appreciate the extreme devotion of Sri Laksmana to Lord Rama. He left his lovely wife Urmila with intense grief due to brotherly love for Rama. He obtained a boon from Nidra Devi (Goddess of sleep) to devoid of sleep for fourteen years of exile because he wanted to be the protector of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita Devi throughout the exile.
During the exile, Rama asked Lakshmana to guard Sita to run after a deer for Sita. Demon Maricha came in disguise as a deer to move Rama from there. Maricha misled Lakshmana in Rama’s voice to stay away from Sita. Lakshmana drew a line to save Sita from peril. The line drawn by Lakshmana was called Lakshmana Rekha. As per the advice of Sita Devi, he went to search for Rama. But sadly, demon King Ravana came in disguise as a Brahmin and abducted Sita Devi. He was a great consolation for Lord Rama during the absence of Sita Devi.
There was a great war held between Lord Rama and Demon Ravana for rescuing Sita Devi. Sri Lakshmana played a crucial role in the great battle with excellent martial skills. He killed Indrajith, the son of Ravana in the conflict. He assisted Lord Rama to restore the virtuousness in the earth.

Sri Lakshmana is also worshipped as a deity in India. Commonly, he is idolized along with Lord Rama and Goddess Sita Devi. He became a wise Prince and ascended the throne. Akashraja and his wife Dharinidevi were childless. Therefore, they decided to carry out a Yaga and they blessed a girl who emerged in a lotus in the ground. Hence the Goddess named Padmavathi.

Once sage Durvasa visited Devaloka (abode of Lord Indra), he gave a flower garland to Lord Indra. Lord Indra wore a garland around his neck while putting it on the forehead of his elephant named Airavath. But the elephant threw it on the floor. Sage Durvasa became enraged by seeing the action of Airavath. He cursed Lord Indra for his contempt towards him. Sage Durvasa cursed that the empire of Indra would ruin for his awful action. Thereby everything became shattered and lost the majesty of Indra’s empire.
Churning Of ocean
Indra asked Lord Vishnu for a solution to escape from that worst situation. Lord Vishnu proposed them to churn out the milky ocean; thereby, they could obtain the elixir of eternal life and save their empire. The great churning of the ocean held with the help of Mount Madura and the snake named Vasuki.

A miserable exile
Lord Rama and Sita Devi led the life happily with each other in Ayodhya. King Dasharatha (father of Lord Ram) decided the crowning ceremony of Lord Rama. But his stepmother Kaikayee not accepted the plan of King Dasharatha and wanted her son Prince Bharatha to ascend the throne. Eventually, circumstances led Lord Rama to exile for fourteen years. Sita sacrificed all the leisures and accompanied her husband, Lord Rama, and his brother Lakshmana to the forests. She shared both the fortunes as well as misfortunes with her husband. Amidst, demon King Ravana abducted Sita Devi during Rama’s absence from the forest. Ravana was killed by Lord Rama and recovered Sita.
After fourteen years, they returned to Ayodhya and ascended the throne. Sita herself led to Agni Pariksha to prove her chastity. Unfortunately, the noble ruler Rama, who deference to the wishes of his subjects, abandoned Sita to the ashram of Valmiki. Sita was devastated by the actions of Rama, and that situation was tragic. Satyavrata (the king of pre-ancient Dravidian, a devotee to Vishnu) washed his hands in the river when a small fish came into his hands. He begged him to save it. Unfortunately, it quickly outgrew the jar he used. The fish was then transferred to a tank, river, and finally to the ocean. Vishnu revealed that the fish was Vishnu, and he told him that within seven days, a deluge would strike that would wipe out all life.
The fish told Manu that the mare living at the bottom would release a toxic flame from her mouth at Kali Yug. This fire will ignite the entire universe, Gods, constellations, and everything. The seven clouds of doomsday will then flood the earth, making it one ocean. The fish instructed Satyavrata to build an Ark to carry all medicinal herbs and seeds. He would also be accompanied by the seven saints, the serpent Vasuki, and other animals. Manu's Ark was finished as the flood approached. Manu asked Vishnu why the flood was so devastating. Matsya Vishnu replied that he was the only moral person alive and the father for future generations.
Matsya defeated Hayagriva and gave the Vedas back to Brahma. He then tied himself to Manu's Ark using Vasuki as his rope and protected them against the storms and floods. Matsya Vishnu then left Manu and the other Himalayan men to begin human civilization after the storms had passed and the water receded.

Mix very well and start frying the sooji and cashews. 5. Keep on stirring the sooji so that the grains do not stick to the pan and are fried evenly. 6. Roast sooji till you can see the ghee getting separated and when you see the cashews getting golden. The color of the suji or rava should not become brown. There will also be a fragrant aroma of suji and ghee in your kitchen. Frying suji takes approx 7 to 8 minutes on a low flame. this step is important because if sooji is not roasted well then you will not get perfect texture in the halwa. There will be slight raw taste in the sooji halwa. Handy tip – note that by the time the cashews get golden, the suji will also be fried well. So keep on stirring and wait for the cashews to get golden. 7. When the suji is fried well, then add 1 teaspoon chironji (optional), 2 tablespoons raisins (kishmish) and a pinch of edible camphor (optional). 8. Next add ½ teaspoon cardamom powder (4 to 5 green cardamoms, powdered in a mortar-pestle, husks discarded). You can also add sliced almonds or pistachios. 9. Mix well. 10. When you keep the sooji for roasting in the ghee, at the same time, take ⅓ cup sugar in another pan or saucepan. 11. Pour 1.25 cups of water. 12. Keep the pan on a stove top on a medium-low to medium flame. Stir so that the sugar dissolves. 13. Bring the water+sugar solution to a boil. 14. Once you stir the raisins, cardamom powder and chironji, then pour the boiling & bubbling sugar solution in the ghee-sooji mixture slowly, with continuous stirring. Pour carefully, as the mixture sizzles and splutters. 15. Mix very well so that lumps are formed. Break the lumps if any with a spoon. 16. The sooji grains will begin to absorb the water and swell. 17. The mixture will start thickening. Keep on stirring often. 18. In the photo below, the sooji halwa mixture has thickened but still soft, moist and the consistency is like that of pudding. 19. Once all the water is absorbed, you will notice the change in the texture. The ghee also will be visible at the sides. 20. Keep stirring and cooking till you get the final texture like the below picture. All the water should be absorbed and the halwa will leave the sides of the pan. If you want to make slices, then immediately pour the sooji halwa mixture in a greased pan or tray. Spread evenly and when warm or cooled, cut into diamond-shaped or square slices. 21. Serve suji ka halwa hot or warm or at the room temperature. Leftover suji halwa can be refrigerated. Before serving warm in a small pan or in a microwave. Heat the remaining 3 tbsp of ghee in a broad non-stick pan, add the jaggery and 1 tbsp of water, mix well and cook on a slow flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously. Keep the churma aside. 8. Combine the churma, melted jaggery and coconut-sesame seeds mixture in a deep bowl and mix very well. Allow the mixture to cool slightly. 9.
